Aryna Sabalenka has a win-loss record of 29-8 this season with one singles title.
Belarusian tennis star Aryna Sabalenka is set to miss the 2024 Paris Olympics due to health issues.
Aryna Sabalenka recently arrived in Germany for the 2024 Berlin Ladies Open. As per Reuters, the 26-year-old stated that she has been suffering from health issues for a while and that she has to miss the Olympics for recovery.
She stated that regular scheduling has made her health worse. Thus, Aryna Sabalenka has decided to prioritize her fitness instead of the game. As a result, she will be taking a rest during the 2024 Paris Olympics and will prepare for the hardcourt season.
Sabalenka said, “Especially with all the struggles I’ve been struggling with the last months, I feel I have to take care of my health. It’s too much for the scheduling and I made the decision to take care of my health. I prefer to have a little rest to make sure physically and health-wise I’m ready for the hard courts.”
Sabalenka has been unlikely on clay this year. She won the Australian Open in January, but she constantly struggled to keep up with other top-ranked stars on the tour in February and March. She was eliminated in the round of 32 of the Dubai Tennis Championships and the Miami Open.
At her first clay tournament of the season, the 26-year-old lost against Markéta Vondroušová in the round of 16. However, Aryna Sabalenka regained her form during the clay season, reaching the finals of the 2024 Madrid Open and the French Open.
Nevertheless, she lost against WTA World No. 1 Iga Swiatek in both championship matches. She looked fresh at the 2024 French Open; however, she was seen suffering from health issues during her quarterfinal clash against Russian prodigy Mirra Andreeva.

She was also spotted taking medicines between the sets and demanding a doctor. Nevertheless, the two-time Australian Open champion will face Russia’s Daria Kasatkina in the round of 16 at the Berlin Ladies Open.
Apart from Aryna Sabalenka, Russian tennis star Andrey Rublev will also be missing the Olympics alongside compatriots Karen Khachanov and Ljudmila Samsonova.
