Elina Svitolina beat Rybakina, Swiatek and Gauff to clinch her third Italian Open title.
Elina Svitolina produced a remarkable performance to defeat Coco Gauff in a gripping three-set final and capture the Italian Open 2026 crown.
The Ukrainian showcased her trademark resilience and defensive brilliance to prevail 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-2 in a contest filled with momentum swings and high-quality rallies at the Foro Italico.
The final began with Gauff looking in complete control as the American raced to an early advantage with aggressive baseline play and sharp returning.
However, Svitolina gradually turned the match around through consistency, intelligent shot selection and exceptional movement on clay, to take the opening set.
Despite Gauff fighting back strongly to claim the second-set tiebreak and force a decider, Svitolina elevated her level once again in the final set.
This marked Svitolina’s third Rome title, with her previous triumph taking place eight years back.
