Charleston Open 2025: All you need to know about prize money & points on offer

Jessica Pegula leads the Charleston Open 2025 field as the top seed.
The WTA 500 Charleston Open officially kicks off the clay court season of the WTA Tour. The green clay courts of Charleston, South Carolina saw local players make a clean sweep in 2024. While Danielle Collins took the singles, Sloane Stephens and Ashlyn Krueger claimed the doubles trophy.
It will be a crowded field of former champions at Charleston. Collins’ victory in 2024 makes her the first home winner of the singles title since Madison Keys in 2019. Collins, the No. 7 seed, will be keen to make history at her home event. No player has won the event twice in a row since Serena Williams in 2012 and 2013.
Daria Kasatkina (2017) and Belinda Bencic (2022) are other former title holders in the fray. Kasatkina, representing Australia, has performed well in Charleston. She has reached the quarterfinals every year since 2016. Kasatkina was a finalist last season.
Madison Keys, who won the 2024 Australian Open, is the second seed. Keys began her season with a title run at the Adelaide International. She upset Pegula in the finals at Adelaide before ending World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka’s hopes of a third straight victory at Melbourne. Emma Navarro (5) and Amanda Anisimova (7) – victors at the Merida Open and the Qatar Open this season, are among the top ten seeds in South Carolina.
The No. 1 seed, Jessica Pegula, is coming off an American hard-court swing that saw her win the ATX Open in February. Pegula is 12-2 since her title run in Austin. She is also a two-time semifinalist in Charleston, making the Final Four in 2023 and 2024. Pegula is seeded to meet defending champ Danielle Collins in the last eight ahead of a possible summit clash with reigning Australian Open Champion Madison Keys.
