Roger Federer and Serena Williams traded tennis racquets for the red carpet this week.
Roger Federer and Serena Williams walked the red carpet in the Big Apple this week, looking to promote their respective documentaries. Their forthcoming self-titled documentaries, “Federer: Twelve Final Days” and “In the Arena: Serena Williams,” are being screened at the iconic Tribeca Film Festival.
Federer arrived dressed in a classic ensemble – a navy suit, white shirt, and sunglasses. Serena’s outfit choice for the day was a pink Dolce & Gabbana corset-inspired design over a halter-neck dress.

Federer’s documentary focuses on his final career tournament — the 2022 Laver Cup — and was screened this Monday at the SVA Theater in Chelsea. Along with candid content featuring Roger and his wife, Mirka Federer, the documentary includes interviews with his main rivals, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal.
The Swiss maestro’s documentary was screened on Monday at the SVA theatre in the Chelsea neighbourhood. The screening of the Serena Williams documentary followed three days later at the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center in Lower Manhattan.
“Federer: Twelve Final Days” will premiere on June 20th on Amazon Prime. “In the Arena: Serena Williams” – an eight-part miniseries will drop on July 10th on ESPN+.
Federer, a former World No. 1, hung up his racquet in 2022 after winning 20 Grand Slam titles. Serena Williams joined Federer in retirement after the 2022 US Open with 23 Grand Slam titles in the bag. Both turned 41 the year they called time on their careers.
Federer’s last match was where he paired up with Rafael Nadal in the Rod Laver Cup against the Team World duo of Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe. Sock and Tiafoe were the villains of the day as they got the better of the legendary duo, 4-6, 7-6 (2), (11-9).
Williams ended her competitive tennis career in the third round of the 2022 US Open to Australian Ajla Tomljanovic in three sets, 7-5, 6-7(4), 6-1.
Together, they won 176 titles, including 43 Grand Slam singles titles, and their departure from the stage marked the end of an era.
