Iva Jovic returns to defend her title
The Guadalajara Open 2026 will feature a stacked field, with No. 2 seed and defending champion Iva Jovic of the USA in the main line-up. Jovic defeated Colombia’s Emiliana Arango 6-4, 6-1 in the final to claim the biggest victory of her career.
Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk, who won the WTA 1000 Madrid Open this year, will be the top seed. The top-seeded duo will be joined by Sara Bejlek, Diane Parry, Janice Tjen, Cristina Bucsa, Magdalena Frech and Liudmila Samsonova.
Poland’s Magdalena Frech won the title in 2024, defeating Australian Olivia Gadecki in straight sets, 7-6(4), 7-5, for her first WTA 500 singles title.
Czech Republic’s Sara Bejlek, the third seed, will look to bag her second WTA 500 title of the season after her title run in Abu Dhabi earlier this year. The 20-year-old is at a career-high WTA ranking of No. 28. Bejlek knocked out Aryna Sabalenka and Madison Keys en route to the title round in Cincinnati before losing to Coco Gauff in the finals.
Top-ranked Frenchwoman Diane Parry (WTA No. 30) and seeded fourth, leads three of her compatriots – Elsa Jacquemot, Carole Monnet and Lois Boisson at the WTA 500 event.
The top four seeds have all received opening round byes. Parry takes on Peyton Stearns in the second round, while Bejlek will face Alycia Parks to begin her campaign in Mexico. Marta Kostyuk and Iva Jovic await their opening round rivals.

Janice Tjen, Sloane Stephens, Bianca Andreescu, Liudmila Samsonova and Zeynep Sonmez are the other noteworthy names at the event.
