ATP Rio Open 2026: Updated schedule, fixtures, results, live streaming details

Sebastian Baez will be looking for a first Rio Open three-peat.

The ATP Rio Open 2026 is the only ATP 500 event in North America and can count the likes of Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz among the list of previous winners.

The 2026 Rio Open plays host to a mix of international and regional players. The ATP 500 Rio Open event will be headlined by Francisco Cerundolo, Luciano Darderi, Joao Fonseca, and Sebastian Baez—the two-time defending champion.

Argentina has no fewer than nine players in the singles main draw, with three all-Argentine clashes scheduled in the early stages of the event. Cerundolo vs Navone, Etcheverry vs Comesana, and Ugo Carabelli vs Burruchaga are all scheduled opening-round matches.

Historically, Argentines have dominated the Rio Open. In the 2026 edition, hopes of delivering a homegrown champion rest on Brazilian teenager Joao Fonseca. No Brazilian has won the trophy since its inception in 2014.

Fonseca will hope to change that and win his second ATP 500 title on home turf. The 19-year-old won the Swiss Indoors Basel last year. Third seed Fonseca is on a possible semi-final collision course with top seed Francisco Cerundolo.

Sebastian Baez will be looking to deliver the first three-peat at the venue and extend his unbeaten ten-match win streak in Brazil.

Also making a return to Rio is last year’s finalist, Alexandre Muller. The Frenchman will open his campaign against a qualifier or lucky loser.

Luciano Darderi headlines the draw’s bottom half as the No. 2 seed. The Italian will play his opening round match against Juan Manuel Cerundolo. An all-Italian opening round clash between Matteo Berrettini and Lorenzo Sonego is also scheduled.

Three Brazilian wildcards will be joining the singles main draw – Joao Lucas Reis Da Silva, Gustavo Heide, and Luis Miguel.

Lorenzo Musetti, slated to be the top seed in Rio, withdrew from the event to make way for Yannick Hanfmann. Gael Monfils was also a last-minute withdrawal due to illness.
