US Open 2026: Full updated schedule for today (September 9), Day 11

Elena Rybakina, Coco Gauff and Alexander Zverev are the big names to watch out for

Day 11 of the US Open 2026 picks up the second half of the quarter-finals, after a Tuesday that was arguably the best Grand Slam day of the season.

Defending champion Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus needed two tie-breaks to get past Czech Republic’s Linda Noskova in a three-set epic. Meanwhile, Frances Tiafoe of the USA outlasted fellow American Alex Michelsen in a five-set marathon that went the distance, 5-7, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3, 7-6, after Michelsen had a match point in the third set.

The best match of the competition began nearly after midnight, and it did not disappoint. USA’s Ben Shelton outlasted defending champion Carlos Alcaraz of Spain in a five-set thriller that finished at around 3:33 AM local time, the latest ending in the tournament’s history, thereby ending Alcaraz’s 18-match Grand Slam winning streak.

On Wednesday, the top half competes. Qinwen Zheng of China opens play against Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina, who remains a win away from the world No. 1 ranking, before Mirra Andreeva of Russia and USA’s Coco Gauff clash in a marquee quarter-final contest.

On the men’s side, Karen Khachanov of Russia faces Belgium’s Alexander Blockx, and top seed Alexander Zverev of Germany takes on Netherlands’ Botic van de Zandschulp in the night session as he chases a maiden US Open title.
