Stefanos Tsitsipas & Paula Badosa's breakup rumours swirl after their first-round exit at Wimbledon 2025

Stefanos Tsitsipas shared a cryptic story on Instagram, fuelling the suspicion.
Stefanos Tsitsipas entered Wimbledon 2025 with a string of early exits and was not expected to go too deep into the Championship. However, not many expected him to lose to Valentin Royer in the very first round. The Greek dropped the first two sets before handing a walkover to his opponent due to a back injury.
Fitness concerns continued to bother him throughout the season, and it also affected his performance. “I’ve tried everything. I’ve done incredible things with my fitness and physiotherapy, so I’ve maximized everything that I possibly can do. Right now, I’m left with no answers. I don’t know what to do.
“I was playing good tennis. I was happy with the way I was playing. I felt like I had a good chance at Wimbledon. I don’t know what else I can say. It’s tough to wrap my head around what happened”, remarked a hapless Tsistipas, who finds himself currently at #27 on the ATP rankings.
Tsitsipas’ girlfriend, Paula Badosa, entered the marquee event ranked World No. 9. Badosa has performed well on the WTA Tour, but recurring injuries have held her back. The effect of the same might have played its part, as she was shockingly beaten by local hope Katie Boulter in the opening round. She withdrew midway through the Berlin Open quarterfinal. Which further highlights her fitness concerns.
While things didn’t go as expected for the couple on court, rumors have now emerged about the end of their relationship. Both Tsitsipas and Badosa are reportedly no longer following each other on Instagram, further fueling the speculation.
The couple has been in an on-and-off relationship, and their struggles on the court may have started to take a toll on their personal lives as well. To make matters worse, Tsitsipas posted a cryptic Instagram story the day after his defeat, sharing a reel about the “rarest qualities of a woman.”
This left fans wondering if he was hinting at a breakup with Badosa. Neither of them has yet officially commented on the matter, and for now, it remains just speculation based on rumours.
