Top five title favourites in men's singles at Wimbledon 2025

Two-time reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz is a hot contender for completing a rare three-peat.

Unlike the women’s field, the men’s division has seen remarkable consistency in recent decades. While Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic reigned supreme in the previous era, the Serbian’s dominance has now been halted for two straight years by Carlos Alcaraz. As Wimbledon 2025 approaches, let’s look at the top five title favourites in men’s singles.

5. Lorenzo Musetti

Lorenzo Musetti has been one of the most consistent players during the clay season, and will be hoping to continue this form on grass as well. The Italian finished as a semi-finalist in 2024 and would back himself to repeat his heroics.

Musetti has reached the semifinals or beyond in his last four appearances and is likely to reach the top eight at Wimbledon as well.

4. Jack Draper

Jack Draper will have the full support of the home crowd as he aims to become the first Brit to win the Wimbledon title since Andy Murray in 2016. His chances of reaching the latter stages received a significant boost after a semi-final run at Queen’s Club propelled him to a career-high ranking of World No. 4, securing him a top-four seeding and a guaranteed quarterfinal spot.

Although his recent loss to Jiri Lehecka raised some concerns, Draper has grown increasingly accustomed to the pressure and expectations that come with performing on the biggest stage.

3. Jannik Sinner

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner was at the brink of a maiden Roland Garros triumph, only to be denied by Alcaraz most unexpectedly. The Italian aimed to shrug off the loss and competed in Halle, only to be knocked out by Bublik in the second round.

Despite this setback, Sinner remains the second-best player currently on the ATP Tour. With his powerful baseline exchange and rapid court coverage, Sinner will be expected to make the finals of yet another Grand Slam major.

2. Novak Djokovic

Arguably the greatest ever on grass, Novak Djokovic might find his best and potentially last chance to claim his 25th Grand Slam title. The Serbian has been denied on two successive occasions by Alcaraz and might have to navigate through a challenging draw, due to his World No. 6 ranking.

However, tennis fans are aware that Djokovic can prove critics wrong every time they write him off. Having reached the semi-finals of both Grand Slams in 2025, will it be third time lucky for the 24-time Grand Slam champion is a question that will be answered in due course.

1. Carlos Alcaraz

Carlos Alcaraz is the absolute favourite for SW19, just as he was in Paris a few months ago. The Spaniard’s dominating win against seven-time winner Djokovic marked the passing of the baton, and he would be hoping to complete a rare three-peat, thereby joining an iconic pool of legendary players.

Alcaraz has the highest win rate on grass, better than Djokovic and Federer, and is coming off the back of three consecutive titles, with the latest being at Queen’s, where he overcame several tricky duels, whilst coming against lower-ranked players. It would require a very special performance to deny Alcaraz his sixth career Grand Slam title.
