5. Novak Djokovic Vs Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (2012 Quarter Final)
World no 1 Novak Djokovic met Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the quarter finals of the French Open in 2012. Both players had qualified into the quarterfinals after playing five setters in their respective games. Novak's opponent was the Italian Andreas Seppi, while Jo had to go through Stan Wawrinka.
Djokovic claimed the first set in dominant fashion but Tsonga fought back. The fifth seed claimed the second and third sets. The fourth set of the match was the most intense of them all. At 6-6 it went to a tiebreaker and played till the last point. However, Novak edged it by winning 8-6 to take it to the final set.
The Serbian took the reign in his hands in the final set and controlled it as he did in the opening set of the match. The final result was 6-1,5-7,5-7,7-6,6-1 in Djokovic's favour, who advanced to the semi finals.
