Kazakhstan vs Poland prediction, lineups betting tips & odds, head-to-head, preview: United Cup 2025
Poland will be looking to make back-to-back United Cup.
Poland and Kazakhastan enter the semi-finals of the United Cup 2025 on the back of strong performances in the group stages. Placed in Czechia and Norway, team Poland find themselves in a strong position. Led by former world number one Iga Swiatek, the Polish will be confident of their chances to go one step further from the previous edition of the 2024 United Cup, wherein they finished as the runners-up.
Up against them will be Kazakhstan, who have been led brilliantly by World No. 5, Elena Rybakina, who has started off exceedingly well. After ending the 2024 year with a win against current No. #1 seed Aryna Sabalenka, she continued her good form beating top stars like Maria Sakkari and Laura Siegemund.
In their debut season, team Kazakhastan has already punched above their weight, having knockouted out reigining champions, Germany, in the quarterfinals. Swiatek on the other hand, outlasted Katie Boucher in a nerve-wrecking contest. Additionally, she has impressed one and all in mixed doubles, with her rally dominating Casper Ruud being one of the highlights of the competition.
Hubert Hurkacz has led Poland’s men outlet. While his outings in singles haven’t been the greatest, he has managed to get his team over the line in mixed doubles when the team has been under pressure.
Alexander Shevchenko, representing Kazakh was instrumental in knocking out Germany from the tournament. The Kazakh downed Zverev’s replacement, Daniel Masur, 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-2 to clinch the tie for Kazakhstan while Zverev watched from the sidelines.

Match Prediction
The men’s singles clash between Alexander Shevchenko and Hubert Hurkacz will be vital. Higher ranked Hurkacz enters the clash as the firm favorite and an early win will set Poland to a flying start. Despite a good outing against Germany, Shevchenko will have to pull off an incredible heist if Kazakhstan were to gain an early lead.
Arguably, the most interesting match of the competition, between two of the finest players of the current era is between Iga Swiatek and Elena Rybakina. Two in-form players who hold the key for their respective nations are expected to leave no stone unturned in their purusit to lead their team to the final. The Kazakh holds the edge over the former World No. 1, leading the head-to-head battle 4-2.
However, Swiatek’s recent form could give her an edge over the 6th seed. Nevertheless one expects this clash to be closely fought. In case of a 1-1 situation, both players of either teams will duel in a mixed doubles contest.
Currently ranked No. 16, Hubert Hurkacz could be the key difference-maker in the United Cup semi-final, emerging as the stronger men’s player. His presence on the court may provide Poland with a crucial advantage as they aim for a second straight berth in the finals.
