Canadian Open 2026: Updated schedule, fixtures, results, & live streaming details

Alexander Zverev and Aryna Sabalenka are the top seeds at the Canadian Open 2026.

The Canadian Open will kick off this weekend with Alexander Zverev and Felix Auger-Aliassime as the top two seeds at the Montreal ATP Masters 1000 event.

Zverev, the World No. 2, could face off against Taylor Fritz in the quarterfinals of the ATP 1000 event. If it goes ahead, it will be their first match since Zverev got the better of Fritz in straight sets at Wimbledon. The German, a champion in 2017, will open his campaign against Lorenzo Sonego or Tallon Griekspoor.’

Felix Auger-Aliassime will be the No. 2 seed in his hometown and will begin his campaign against Luca Van Assche or a qualifier. A quarterfinal showdown against sixth-seed Flavio Cobolli awaits the World No. 4 from Montreal.

Ben Shelton, who won the event last year in Toronto, could square off against 2021 winner Daniil Medvedev in the last eight. Shelton defeated Karen Khachanov in three sets last year to lift a Masters 1000 trophy for the first time.

The WTA Tour also moves to Canada, with the WTA 1000 to be held in Toronto for the 2026 edition. The women’s field is led by World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and No. 2 Elena Rybakina, with both women playing their first event since Wimbledon.

Two-time champion and No. 3 seed Jessica Pegula will also be in the fray. Elina Svitolina, Belinda Bencic, and Bianca Andreescu are the other former winners on the entry list.

Homegrown champion Victoria Mboko will miss out on the event, as well as the US Open. The Canadian picked up a knee injury in June at Queen’s in London. Her compatriot Leylah Fernandez has been handed a tough draw and could potentially face No. 5 seed Mirra Andreeva in the Round of 32.

Newly minted Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova will also be back on the court for the first time since her triumph at the All England Club.
