The Grand Slam is heading towards its business end.

The 2022 edition of the US Open has been very entertaining up to this point and excellent tennis action was witnessed again on the ninth day of the event. For the past few days, tennis stars have been fighting in multiple categories, trying to advance into the championship. Nick Kyrgios’ journey in Men’s Singles came to an end as he lost to Karen Khachanov in the quarters. The 26-year-old Russian enters his first major semi-final after eliminating the 2022 Wimbledon finalist in an epic five-setter

In the end, the score read 7-5, 4-6, 7-5, 6-7(3-7), 6-4 in the favour of Khachanov. The defeat brought out the frustration inside Kyrgios who broke a couple of racquets after the match was over. On the other hand in Women’s Singles, Coco Gauff suffered a defeat at the hands of France’s Caroline Garcia. The lower ranked player knocked out the American by a 6-3, 6-4 straight sets win. This leaves Jessica Pegula as the sole American in this particular bracket.
