Jannik Sinner has won six ATP titles this year.
Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner recently took to social media and uploaded a post after winning US Open 2024 title. The ATP World No. #1 defeated home hope Taylor Fritz in straight sets to win his second Grand Slam title.
After Sinner lost to Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals of 2024 Canadian Open, it seemed like the Italian tennis star’s hip injury would restrict him from performing at his best in Flushing Meadows. However, the 23-year-old returned to the North American swing by winning the 2024 Cincinnati Open.
At US Open 2024, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz were the top two favourites to win the title, but they crashed out of the tournament in the earlier rounds. Sinner maintained his momentum throughout the campaign and dropped only two sets.
He stunned Daniil Medvedev of Russia in the quarterfinals before he folded Jack Draper in straight sets to reach his first-ever US Open final. In the final, he outclassed America’s Taylor Fritz 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 to win the US Open crown. After the match, he took to social media and thanked his supporters and team.

He also affirmed that he’s aiming to perform better in the remaining tournaments of the year. Two ATP 1000 events remain this year, that are, the Shanghai Open and the Paris Masters. Additionally, he has already qualified for the ATP Finals alongside Alexander Zverev.
He wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Thank you, New York!! Incredibly special to win my second slam title here after a great two weeks. Thank you for all the support, it means so much. I love this sport and it means everything to me, time to enjoy this moment with my team and my family before we get back to work for the end of the year. The work never stops, we keep pushing.”
Sinner has been in the first position in the ATP rankings for the past 13 weeks, and he has garnered a lead of more than 3000 points over second-placed Alexander Zverev. This means he’s expected to remain at the top of the rankings at the end of the year.
The Italian tennis star became the eighth ATP star to cross the 10,000-point mark in the rankings. He has joined the elite list of Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, and Daniil Medvedev. The 23-year-old currently has 11,180 points.
