Sumit Nagal will be playing doubles and singles at US Open 2024.

The first round matches of US Open 2024 are set to start in a few hours as fans and players gear up for the final slam of the season. The matches are expected to take place in various courts around the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. One of the players who will be in action is India’s Sumit Nagal.

He will be facing Tallon Griekspoor in the first round. Nagal will be playing in singles and doubles at US Open 2024. While he will be making his doubles debut at the event this season, it will be his third appearance in singles. It is his first appearance in the singles main draw since 2020.

The 27-year-old is the only Indian in the men’s singles draw at US Open 2024. He has not secured a win in the grand slams since the Australian Open seven months ago.

Nagal will be facing Griekspoor for the first time on the ATP tour as the Dutchman had beaten the Indian in the final of Banja Luka challengers event in 2019. The match was on clay and this time the hardcourts of Flushing Meadows will be the venue.

Griekspoor is making his fourth appearance at the US Open. He had reached the second round three years ago and is seeking a second win in the event.
