The pair have only crossed paths once, at Indian Wells in 2023, where Gauff came out on top in two sets.
If Gauff advances, she will face the winner between USA’s Iva Jovic and Philippines’ Alex Eala, with a potential path to the final running through Russia’s Mirra Andreeva, Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina, and Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka.
