The Korea Open marks Swiatek’s fifth final of the season, and she has already lifted two trophies in 2025. On the other hand, Alexandrova too has enjoyed a brilliant season. The 30-year-old Russian has already played two WTA 500 finals this year, winning the Linz Open against Dayana Yastremska and finishing runner-up at the Monterrey Open to Diana Shnaider

In Seoul, she overcame Lois Boisson in a battling three-set opener before finding her rhythm with a straight-sets quarterfinal win over German qualifier Ella Seidel. In the semifinals, she produced a measured 6-4, 6-2 victory over fellow qualifier Katerina Siniakova to book her place in the final.

For Alexandrova, Sunday’s match carries an extra layer of motivation. At the US Open last month, it was Swiatek who halted her run with a commanding 6-3, 6-1 win in the round of 16. Now, the Russian gets a chance to flip the script and take the revenge.

But, the head-to-head record goes against the Russian. Swiatek leads 5-2 in their previous meetings.
