The matchup remains finely balanced despite Swiatek’s recent success. The Pole leads their overall head-to-head 7-6 and also holds a 5-3 advantage on outdoor hard courts, but Rybakina won their other meeting in 2026 on her way to the Australian Open title.
Swiatek should still enter as the slight favourite given her nine-match winning streak, defending-champion status and recent victory over Rybakina.
However, the Kazakh’s improved serving sets up the stage for a much more interesting contest than the one which unfolded earlier in Toronto.
The Kazakh will also be inches closer from finally claiming the World No. 1 ranking, if she goes on to reach the Cincinnati final.
