Stefanos Tsitsipas’ recent title triumph in Gstaad has once again brought the focus on his personal life and relationships. From a tennis standpoint, the Greek player recently won his first title in over a year at the ATP Swiss Open, beating Raphael Collignon in the final.

However, it is hard to ignore Tsitsipas’ massive decline in form. From once being a Grand Slam title contender to now struggling to maintain his place in the ATP top-50, the 27-year-old has constantly found himself struggling with problems both on and off the field.

Before Gstaad, Tsitsipas held a 12-15 win-loss record and was recently thrashed by Novak Djokovic in the second round of Wimbledon. He will hope his recent victory is just the start of the much-needed turnaround he seeks, to return to where he belonged, a couple of years back.

What happened with Paula Badosa?

Tsitsipas and Badosa were one of tennis’ most high-profile couples. Their relationship became public in May 2023 and quickly attracted global attention, with fans pairing them “Tsitsidosa.”

The duo frequently trained together, attended tournaments as a couple, and openly supported each other at competitions. The couple briefly split in May 2024, citing the pressures of balancing two demanding professional careers, but reconciled within a few weeks after working through their differences.

However, reports during Wimbledon 2025 indicated that they had ended their relationship for a second time, with the breakup proving permanent.

Both later removed many of their shared social media posts and largely stopped speaking publicly about one another. Badosa, who has had a painful history with recurring injuries herself, finally broke her silence and opened up about her previous relationship with the Greek.

Following her inspired comeback win over Coco Gauff at the Berlin Open, the Spaniard described the past year as one of the most difficult periods of her life. She referred to the relationship as “toxic” and suggested that it had taken a significant emotional toll on her.

“You can have a great relationship with an ex because they’re normal people and it’s a normal relationship. But when it’s not like that… I don’t need to explain any further. You can see every day that the other person makes everything harder.”

Tsitsipas has also had strained relations with his father, Apostolos Tsitsipas. They have clashed publicly on several occasions, and the tense player-coach relationship between them is considered one of the main reasons for Tsitsipas’ poor performance over the past few years.

Who is Kristen Thoms?

Kristen Thoms is a 29-year-old American model, social media personality and former collegiate tennis player. Before entering modelling, she represented both the University of Iowa and Florida Atlantic University in NCAA tennis.

Her tennis background has kept her close to the game, and she has become a familiar face in Tsitsipas’ player box this 2026 season.

The couple have not announced an engagement. According to reports, Tsitsipas began dating in the second half of 2025 after separating from Paula Badosa. Their relationship became public in January 2026 when the Greek player shared a travel vlog featuring the pair in Namibia.

Unlike his previous relationships, Tsitsipas and Thoms have largely stayed out of the limelight and have chosen to keep their personal lives private. The couple came under the spotlight during Tsitsipas’ trophy celebration after winning the Swiss Open.
