Barbora Krejcikova and Jasmine Paolini dropped two sets each on their way to the Wimbledon 2024 final.
The women’s singles final at Wimbledon 2024 Championships saw Barbora Krejcikova defeat Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 for her second grand slam singles title. Both players were playing their second major singles final and their first at Wimbledon.
Krejcikova hit 28 winners in the final and six aces to lift the trophy for the first time in singles at Wimbledon. Her net game and groundstrokes were perfect in the first set but Paolini fought back with the same intensity to level the scores.
Krejcikova regained her powerful service in the third set and hit five aces which forced Paolini into the defensive mode. The 31st seed served a 173.8 km/h to the backhand which Paolini tried to return in vain as it went long. Krejcikova turned her back and looked upto the sky as she finally conquered Wimbledon.

Barbora Krejcikova will receive £2,700,000 for her win in the final. Along with the prize money, she will also collect 2000 ranking points. The 28-year-old had never progressed past the fourth round at Wimbledon before this season. She will be now entering the top #10 of the WTA rankings.
The Czech star had to spend 14 hours on the court to lift the title at the grass court event. She further played for six and half hours on the court in doubles. Krejcikova only dropped three sets at Wimbledon 2024. She has now won the singles and doubles at Wimbledon and the French Open.
Prize money Jasmine Paolini will collect at Wimbledon 2024
Paolini will be walking away with a heavy heart as the runner up at Wimbledon 2024. She will be awarded with a prize money of £1,400,000 and 1300 ranking points. She will be now making her debut at the WTA top five rankings.
The 28-year-old tried to make a comeback in the third set, it was not enough to pull off a win. Paolini will be happy with her grand slam performances this season.

She spent 13 hours on the court at Wimbledon 2024 in the singles draw. Like her opponent, Paolini too had played doubles where she spent four hours on the court. She has been the latest Italian sensation on the WTA tour.
How much prize money did Barbora Krejcikova and Jasmine Paolini earn in doubles at Wimbledon 2024?
Krejcikova and Paolini also played women’s doubles at Wimbledon 2024. The Czech player partnered with Laura Siegemund and the pair reached the quarterfinals. They lost to second seeds, Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe in three sets.
Krejcikova and Siegemund collected £84,000 as a pair with their performance in women’s doubles. Meanwhile, Paolini played alongside Sara Errani and the duo lost in the third round. The fifth seeds lost in straight sets to Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula.
Gauff and Pegula were the 11th seeds at Wimbledon 2024 but managed to upset the Italians. The Italian team will receive £42,000.
Barbora Krejcikova and Jasmine Paolini have had a similar run in the singles championship. Both players received a walkover during their path to the final. For Paolini it was in the fourth round while for Krejcikova it was in the third round.
