A video of French tennis player Lucas Pouilleâs daughter reacting to her fatherâs main draw win at 2024 Wimbledon has started resurfacing on social media.
Former Australian Open semi-finalist Lucas Pouille made his way into the main draw of the 2024 Wimbledon Championships by defeating Jack Pinnington Jones, Jiri Vesely and Luca Van Assche in the qualifiers.
Pouille faced Serbiaâs Laslo Djere in the first round of the grass-court Grand Slam, where he recorded a thrilling victory in a five-set marathon. The Frenchman displayed his on-court prowess in the last two sets to seal the victory, 3-6, 7-6, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.
Lucas Pouille finished the match in style with an ace and secured a place in the second round. After the win, an adorable video of his daughter started surfacing on the internet, where she can be seen dancing and celebrating her fatherâs victory.
A former ATP World No. 10, Lucus Pouilleâs journey has been filled with setbacks and difficulties. The Frenchman has fought against alcoholism and depression to keep his tennis career on track.
Despite all the struggles, Lucus Pouille has had notable successes in his career, including a win over Spainâs Rafael Nadal at the 2016 US Open. Meanwhile, the Frenchman will face Australiaâs Thanasi Kokkinakis in the second round of the 2024 Wimbledon Championships.
Kokkinakis crafted an unforgettable comeback against Canadaâs Felix Augur Aliassime in the first round on Wednesday. The Australian tennis star saved four match points against Aliassime to win the match 4-6, 5-7, 7-6 (11-9), 6-4, 6-4. It seemed like Felix Augur Aliassime would end the match in the third set, however, Kokkinakis wrote a fairy tale ending for himself.
He said after the match, âObviously I would have rather done it easier, but I had a couple of lapses of concentration in the first two sets. I knew I was not too far away but I just lost my focus. I thought I was the better player in the third (set) and then it got ugly and I got a bit lucky towards the end there, and then (in the) fourth and fifth I came out playing some good tennis and found the right way.â
