Sumit Nagal after Wimbledon 2024 has now featured in the singles main draw of all four grand slams.

Wimbledon 2024 saw four Indians participate in the main draw. Sumit Nagal was the only player to qualify in the singles draw. In doubles, Rohan Bopanna, Yuki Bhambri and Sriram Balaji made the cut.

Nagal played in both singles and doubles at the Wimbledon 2024 Championships. While he exited in the opening round in both events, the Indian No. #1 in singles walked off with £67,875 (INR 72.55 lacs) with his performances at the grass court grand slam.

The 26-year-old lost to Miomir Kecmanovic in four sets in singles. Meanwhile in doubles, he partnered with Dusan Lajovic and the pair lost in straight sets. Joining Nagal in the doubles draw was Balaji who partnered with Luke Johnson.

The duo lost in straight sets to fourth seeded Mate Pavic and Marcelo Arevalo in the first round. Balaji pocketed £7,875 (INR 8.42 lacs) after his early defeat.

With Nagal and Balaji falling early, Bhambri and Bopanna were the only Indians who managed to secure a win at Wimbledon 2024 Championships. Bopanna and Matthew Ebden lost in the second round. Bopanna was rewarded with £12,500 (INR 13.36 lacs) for his performance.

Bhambri also secured a win in the opening round while playing with Albano Olivetti. But he faltered in the next match to eighth seeds Tim Putz and Kevin Krawietz. Bhambri collected £12,500 (INR 13.36 lacs) for his participation at the Wimbledon 2024 Championships.

The prize money received by the Indian players at Wimbledon 2024 Championships is before tax. Out of the four Indians competing at this year’s edition at Wimbledon, only Bopanna and Bhambri had earlier played in the main draw of the event.

Bhambri, 31, entered the singles main draw for the first time in 2018. Last year, he made his doubles debut at Wimbledon with Saketh Myneni. Meanwhile, Bopanna had made his debut at Wimbledon in 2008 while playing alongside Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi.

The dynamic duo won their first match before bowing out in the next one. Bopanna was playing doubles at Wimbledon for the 14th time. He has been inspiring the next generation of players to perform well at the prestigious championships.
