Sumit Nagal is a former Wimbledon boy’s doubles champion.
Indian tennis star Sumit Nagal recently took to social media and uploaded a video from his Wimbledon 2024 first-round loss against Serbia’s Miomir Kecmanovic on Monday.
Nagal made his singles main draw debut at Wimbledon 2024, where he suffered a 2-6, 6-3, 3-6, 4-6 loss against Serbian No. #4 Miomir Kecmanovic in a contest that lasted two hours and 39 minutes.
However, the scoreline does not define the effort the 26-year-old made during the first-round match. Nagal faced troubles on his serve; however, he lost most of his games on advantage. In addition to that, grass is not the Indian tennis player’s preferred surface.
Indian tennis star Sumit Nagal said about his performance in the match (via the Times of India), “The serving was poor. If you are missing a lot of first serves, you are always behind. Especially on grass.”

Thus, he also took to X (formerly Twitter) and uploaded a video clip from his Wimbledon singles main draw debut. Nagal stated that he enjoyed playing on grass as he was playing on the green surface after six years.
The 26-year-old wrote, “What a day filled with learning and experience for me. Enjoyed playing on grass again after 6 years, putting my heart and legs into every moment on the court. Thanks for the support as always. Means a lot. Time to recover for the doubles.”
