Carson Branstine will make her Grand Slam debut at Wimbledon against Aryna Sabalenka.
WTA World No. #1 Aryna Sabalenka will face Canada’s Carson Branstine in the first round of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships. Branstine is the lowest seeded player in the main draw, ranking 189 places lower than the Belarusian tennis star. She made her way into the main draw with three victories in the qualifying rounds.
Branstine defeated Roland Garros semi-finalist Lois Boisson, Raluca Georgiana Serban and countrywoman Bianca Andreescu. Nevertheless, the world No. 190 would face her biggest test on her Wimbledon debut. However, apart from being an emerging tennis star, the 24-year-old is also quite famous outside the court.
Carson Branstine is also a professional model and is reportedly signed to two agencies. Interestingly, her modelling career helps pay for her tennis expenses. She recently told Clay Magazine about her modelling career and how it helps her manage her tennis expenses. Branstine claimed that she doesn’t want to ask anything from her parents, as she’s keen to make a career for herself in tennis.
She said, “I love being in front of the camera during a shoot. It’s fun, I love fashion. It’s been one of the reasons I’ve been able to pay some of my trips. I didn’t want to ask my parents for anything. I wanted everything to come from me and from my tennis.”

Carson Branstine also often uploads her modelling pictures on her social media accounts while sharing tennis updates with her fans. The Canadian tennis star’s Instagram account has more than 20,000 followers. Branstine also uploaded a post on her official Instagram account after earning a main draw spot in the 2025 Wimbledon. She captioned the post, “Nice to meet you @wimbledon.”
The 24-year-old would make her Grand Slam debut at the grass Major. She was absent from the 2025 Australian Open and later lost to Switzerland’s Rebeka Masarova in the qualifiers at the French Open.
Branstine also failed to qualify for the Birmingham Classic after coming up short against Russia’s Vitalia Diatchenko. However, she reached the Round of 16 of the Libema Open, eventually losing to Elena-Gabriela Ruse.
Carson Branstine also reacted on social media after the first-round fixtures were confirmed. She wrote on X, “Maybe one day I’ll get a good draw LOL.”
