The Wimbledon 2025 draw sets the stage for thrilling early matchups and historic showdowns.

The Wimbledon 2025 draw, unveiled this morning at the All England Club, has laid the foundation for one of the most competitive editions in recent memory. The stakes are high — with Jannik Sinner leading the men’s field as World No. #1, Aryna Sabalenka heading the women’s draw, and legends like Novak Djokovic and Petra Kvitová possibly bidding farewell.

From the very first round, the draw throws up high-voltage matchups, with British stars in the spotlight, defending champions on watch, and future stars eager to disrupt the hierarchy. The return of full-capacity crowds, prime-time finals, and the debut of electronic line-calling only amplify the drama.

Among the top storylines: Carlos Alcaraz begins his title defense from the bottom half, Djokovic faces a French lefty in round one, and Emma Raducanu is set for an all-British clash against teenager Mimi Xu. Petra Kvitová, back with a wildcard, will play No. #6 seed Maria Sakkari: a match that blends nostalgia and firepower.

Here’s a breakdown of the men’s and women’s singles draws and the must-watch matchups as play begins June 30.

Men’s singles draw

Top seed Jannik Sinner opens against experienced Frenchman Adrian Mannarino. He’s projected to meet Taylor Fritz (No. 10) in the quarter-finals, with a possible semi-final showdown against Jack Draper, the British No. #1 and No. #4 seed, who starts against Pedro Martinez. Draper could meet Holger Rune in the fourth round.

Carlos Alcaraz, seeded second, opens against Australian qualifier James McCabe. He may run into Tommy Paul (No. 7) or Hubert Hurkacz (No. 12) in the quarter-finals. If the draw holds, a Alcaraz vs Draper semi-final could light up Centre Court in week two.

Novak Djokovic, chasing a record 25th Grand Slam, begins against Alexandre Muller. Seeded sixth, the Serb is in the same half as Alcaraz, with a potential quarter-final against Casper Ruud (No. 3). Notably, this is Djokovic’s first major since knee surgery, making his movement and endurance key questions.

Others include Alexander Zverev (No. 8) and Ben Shelton (No. 11), both on the opposite side of Alcaraz and Djokovic. If seeds hold, fans could witness a Sinner vs Zverev semifinal, with the winner likely facing Alcaraz, Draper, or Djokovic in the final.

Women’s singles draw

Aryna Sabalenka, the top seed, faces qualifier Carson Branstine in round one. Her projected quarter-final opponent is Elena Rybakina (No. 5), setting up a possible showdown between the 2022 and 2023 champions arguably the most anticipated women’s clash of the early rounds.

Coco Gauff (No. 3) begins against Anna Kalinskaya and could meet Barbora Krejčíková (No. 6), the defending champion, in the quarter-finals. Krejčíková starts her title defense against Tatjana Maria and has a tough section with Daria Kasatkina (No. 9) and Victoria Azarenka nearby.

Iga Swiatek (No. 2), aiming to complete the Channel Slam, opens against Karolina Pliskova. She shares her quarter with Ons Jabeur (No. 8), a two-time Wimbledon finalist. A Swiatek vs Jabeur quarterfinal could be one of the most elegant and tactically rich matchups of the tournament.

Emma Raducanu will take on Mimi Xu, a fellow Briton and rising junior, in a match that blends legacy and promise. A win could send Raducanu into a potential second-round clash with Liudmila Samsonova, making her road far from easy. Meanwhile, Petra Kvitová faces Maria Sakkari (No. 6) in what could be the most emotional first-rounder of the women’s draw.
