World Tennis League 2024 will take place from December 19 to December 22.

The World Tennis League 2024 will take place from December 19-22 in Abu Dhabi. It brings together top players to compete in a new team setup.

Current World No. #1 in women’s singles Aryna Sabalenka and former top-ranked Iga Swiatek lead the four-team event. The tournament splits 16 players into teams – HonorFX Eagles, Game Changers Falcons, TSL Hawks, and SG Mavericks Kites.

They will play round-robin matches. Each match has men’s singles, women’s singles, and two doubles sets. Teams get points based on games they win.

India’s best singles player Sumit Nagal joins Sabalenka on the Hawks. Elena Rybakina and Andrey Rublev boost the Falcons. Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas adds strength to the Eagles’ lineup.

The setup brings in “overtime” if the team behind wins the fourth set. A “Super Shootout” tiebreaker decides matches tied after overtime. The winner gets extra points. The event builds on earlier ones held in Dubai.

It helps to grow tennis in the Middle East alongside regular ATP and WTA tournaments. The top two teams move to the December 22 final.

When is World Tennis League 2024 scheduled to take place?

Which city will host World Tennis League 2024?

The 2024 World Tennis League will be held on hard courts at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

What is the format of World Tennis League 2024?

The 2024 World Tennis League uses a round-robin setup where four teams compete against each other. Each contest called a tie, has four sets: one men’s singles, one women’s singles, and two doubles sets (men’s, women’s, or mixed doubles based on a coin flip). Teams get one point for every game they win during the tie. The tie ends if the team that wins the fourth set is in the lead.

If the fourth set winner still trails, the match goes to overtime. In this case, the team in front can win by taking just one game. If the scores become even, a first-to-10 super shoot-out tiebreak picks the winner giving one game point and two extra points.
