WTA Finals 2024: Coco Gauff, Jasmine Paolini, Elena Ryabkina, Jessica Pegula qualify; two more spots left

The WTA Finals 2024 has only two more spots as four players have made the cut. Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina, Jessica Pegula and Jasmine Paolini have qualified for the season ending championship. The event which will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia has only two spots remaining as players will hope to be a part of the elite eight of 2024 season.
American players Gauff and Pegula will be playing in their third consecutive WTA Finals while Rybakina is making her second successive appearance in the tournament. Paolini is set to make debut in the WTA Finals this season and has also qualified in doubles alongside Sara Errani. Paolini became the first Italian singles player to compete in the WTA Finals since Flavia Pennetta in 2015.
In the singles race to WTA Finals 2024, Gauff is in third place with 5348 points below Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek. Coming in fourth place is Paolini with 5144 points followed by Ryabkina with 4971 points and Pegula with 4705 points. Swiatek was the first one to qualify for the event as Sabalenka was the second one.
With six spots being booked for WTA Finals 2024, the race has intensified as two more players can book the final spots. With less than a month to go, every match is crucial as players could miss out on the reservation by a few points.

Who could next qualify for WTA Finals 2024?
The singles race to the WTA Finals 2024 will see Qinwen Zheng, Emma Navarro and Danielle Collins battle for the remaining two spots. Zhang looks to be the next contender as she has 4100 points and is in good form. Meanwhile Navarro is a bit behind with 3568 points and Collins has collected 3176 points.
Zheng will be competing in the Ningbo Open and will boost her chances of qualifying with a couple of wins. Navarro was last seen playing in Wuhan Open while suffering a opening round exit. On the other hand, Collins has not played a match since the second week of September, she lost in the first round in Guadalajara Open in Mexico.
The 22-year-old Chinese player is poised to make her debut in the WTA Finals this season. The home favourite in Ningbo is the top seed in the hardcourt event.
