Iga Swiatek is continuing to showcase her consistency on the WTA tour. She has become the third player in the last 30 years after Martina Hingis and Caroline Wozniacki to register 60 plus wins in three consecutive seasons. Hingis had achieved the same from 1997-2001 while Wozniacki recorded the feat from 2009-2011.
Swiatek had secured 67 wins in 76 matches in the 2022 season and 68 wins in 79 matches in the 2023 season. This season she has earned 60 victories in 68 matches and will be adding a couple more in the next few days. The Polish player also breached 400 career matches this season and at this pace could hit the 500 mark by the end of 2025 or early 2026 season.
Swiatek is also currently nine wins away from celebrating her 350th career victory on the WTA tour. The 23-year-old is now competing in the WTA Finals 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and is the defending champion in the event. She is aiming to be the first player since Serena Williams in 2014 to successfully defend the crown at the season ending championship.

Iga Swiatek maintains winning start record in WTA Finals 2024
The WTA Finals 2024 saw Swiatek featuring in the event for the fourth consecutive year. She made her debut in 2021. By winning the opening match against Barbora Krejcikova this season, the World No #2 ensured that she had a winning start at the event for the fourth successive year. In 2021 she had defeated Jessica Pegula in the opening match before losing the next two.
In the 2022 season, Swiatek went on to reach the semi-finals while losing to Aryna Sabalenka. Last season, she did not drop a set on her way to the title. The five-time grand slam winner is the favourite to clinch the title this season too. She is in team orange with Coco Gauff, Krejcikova and Jessica Pegula.
Swiatek will next face Gauff in the second group stage match and holds a 11-1 head to head advantage against the young American. It will be their third meeting in the WTA Finals as Gauff was bageled in a set each in the past two editions. This time the scores could differ as the 20-year-old has regained her top form.
