Coco Gauff is back into the top-3 of WTA rankings, while Iga Swiatek slipped to No. 4.
The Miami Open 2026 saw Aryna Sabalenka defend her title and extend her lead at the top as the World No. 1. Coco Gauff made the top seed work hard for her win in the final, but the Belarusian managed to get the job done in the decider set.
Gauff’s heroics saw her once again climb to the third spot, but a very narrow margin separates her and the fourth placed Iga Swiatek. The Pole, who was the No. 2 ranked player just three weeks back, as has had a poor run since the Australian Open.
She suffered her first opening-round defeat at a WTA event since the 2021 WTA Finals, highlighting her struggles.
Meanwhile, at No. 2, Elena Rybakina has now consolidated her position with another impressive outing in Miami, where she reached the semi-finals.
The Kazakh has the least number of points to defend in the clay season, and if she can continue her good form, she could certainly surpass the 10K points figure. Currently she trails Sabalenka by 2917 points, and leads Gauff by over 900 points.
Victoria Mboko has achieved a career high ranking of #9 after a splendid start to the 2026 season, while the 18-year-old American Iva Jovic broke into the top-15 for the first ever time. Hailey Baptiste, who reached the Miami semi-finals, also made a career high rise, ranked World No. 33.
