19-year-old Victoria Mboko makes her top-10 WTA rankings debut after reaching the finals in Doha.
Victoria Mboko’s stunning runner-up campaign at the Qatar Open 2026 in Doha, helped her reach a new career high of World No. 10. Meanwhile, the tournament’s champion Karolina Muchova climbed eight spots to claim the #11 position. Maria Sakkari, the semi-finalist entered the top-35 rankings.
However, the most interesting rankings race, is happening at the top of the ladder. Iga Swiatek managed to keep herself at No. 2, while Rybakina continues to reduce the deficit. The Kazakh is less than 300 points away from claiming the World No. 2 spot for the first time in her career.
With Swiatek ruled out of the Dubai Open, Rybakina has the golden chance to secure the top-2 spot. Meanwhile Qatar Open 2025 champion Amanda Anisimova was eliminated in the very first round, and hence dropped 990 points, to leave the top-5 WTA rankings.
