UFC 305 is just around the corner with some blockbuster fights
Dricus du Plessis and Israel Adesanya will finally face off on Saturday, August 17, in the main event of UFC 305, competing for the middleweight championship at Perth’s RAC Arena. The fight was originally slated for UFC 293 in September 2023, however, it was canceled due to a foot injury suffered by Du Plessis.
They eventually agreed to fight at UFC 300 in April of this year, but the South African postponed the bout again, claiming ailments in both legs that he claimed had remained since his battle with Sean Strickland.
With less than a week until the event, it appears they will eventually square off in a five-round contest, with Du Plessis defending his championship against previous champion ‘The Last Stylebender’ Adesanya.
This will be the first time two African-born competitors have competed for the UFC championship. South African Dricus du Plessis (21-2-0) will make his maiden championship defense at UFC 305, looking to extend his nine-fight winning run.
However, it won’t be easy against New Zealand’s Nigerian-born Israel Adesanya (24-3-0), who was the middleweight title after dethroning Robert Whittaker at UFC 243 in 2019 and successfully defended it five times.
How much will Israel Adesanya & Dricus Du Plessis make at UFC 305?
The official profits for UFC 305 have yet to be revealed, however, an approximation may be calculated based on prior payouts.
Dricus du Plessis is said to have earned roughly $1 million (8.22 crores INR) in his fight against Sean Strickland in January, which was the largest pay of his career at the time, and as the current champion, he is expected to exceed that number.
Adesanya, on the other hand, has received greater purses as a result of his two-time UFC championship.
For example, in his battle against Alex Pereira in April 2023, he earned a total of $2,807,000 (23.56 crores INR), yet his anticipated earnings in September of the same year, when he lost the championship to Strickland, were $354,000 (2.97 crores INR).
How much will Tai Tuivasa & Jairzinho Rozenstruik make at UFC 305?
While there has been no official release of their purse for this bout in Las Vegas, it is assumed that Polish heavyweight Tybura would get a large sum for his name leading the show, with the added incentive of this being his third consecutive starring battle.
Based on these facts, NYFights predicts Tybura, who is now a well-established heavyweight contender, will earn $300,000. His competitor, Spivac, might earn a respectable $200,000 for his third main event, but this will be his largest payout since joining the UFC in 2019.
