Alexander Volkanovski vs Diego Lopes

Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes face combat in Saturday’s main event, with the vacant UFC featherweight title on the line.

This weekend marks Volkanovski’s first fight since surrendering the championship to Ilia Topuria at UFC 298 in February. After fighting four times in 360 days and being knocked out in successive fights, the Australian icon hit pause and reset at the same time, taking a little over a year off before attempting to recapture the crown he had held for almost four years.

Lopes’ ascent in the ranks contrasts with his opponent’s problems, as the 30-year-old Brazilian has five victories in 13 months to establish himself as a viable championship contender in the featherweight class. Lopes rocked Brian Ortega in the early stages of their last fight at UFC 306, and he continued to dominate the action throughout, sweeping the scorecards.

Michael Chandler vs Paddy Pimblett

The co-main event of UFC 314 is a lightweight fight between longtime contender Michael Chandler and British fan favorite Paddy Pimblett.

After patiently waiting for a fight with Conor McGregor that never came, Chandler broke a two-year layoff in November at UFC 309, where he was defeated by Charles Oliveira in his second bout. The soon-to-be 39-year-old is 2-4 in six UFC appearances, but all of his losses have come against opponents who have already won a championship.

During his first four years of competition inside the Octagon, “Paddy the Baddy” boasts a 6-0 record with four finishes, propelling him into the Top 15. Each time out, the Liverpool guy proves his detractors wrong and performs, most notably putting King Green to sleep with a brilliant first-round triangle choke submission at UFC 304 in July.

Bryce Mitchell vs Jean Silva

Bryce Mitchell and Jean Silva square battle in the midst of Saturday night’s pay-per-view main event, with a spot in the featherweight division title race on the line.

Mitchell, a regular in the ranks for the past several years, has alternated victories and defeats since beating Edson Barboza in early 2022. After being defeated by Josh Emmett at the end of 2023, the former Ultimate Fighter contender returned with a third-round knockout victory over Kron Gracie last December, improving his career record to 17-3.

Silva continued where he left off in his 2025 campaign, recording a first-round knockout victory against Melsik Baghdasaryan in Seattle to improve to 4-0 in the UFC and extend his total winning run to twelve. He called Mitchell out during his post-winning interview, and now he has his desire, seeking his fifth victory in 16 months to break into the Top 15.

Yair Rodriguez vs Patricio Pitbull

Former interim champion Yair Rodriguez welcomes long-time Bellator titleholder Patricio Pitbull to the Octagon for the first time in the third of UFC 314’s three exciting main card featherweight combinations.

Rodriguez has lost two straight fights since winning the interim championship at UFC 284, falling short in his attempt to unify the titles at UFC 290 before being submitted by Brian Ortega in their rematch in Mexico City in February. The ever-dangerous Mexican competitor has proven himself capable of exceptional efforts and magnificent performances on several occasions, and another one today will be required to get things back on track.

Pitbull, who has spent well over a decade as one of the top fighters competing outside of the UFC, will finally enter the Octagon this weekend. The 37-year-old Brazilian is 36-7 overall, having defeated a number of well-known fighters and winning championships in two classes.

Nikita Krylov vs Dominick Reyes

Nikita Krylov and Dominick Reyes, ranked light heavyweights, kick up the pay-per-view main event in a critical 205-pound weight class showdown.

Krylov fights for the first time in almost two years, coming off a three-fight winning streak that included stoppage victories over Alexander Gustafsson and Ryan Spann, as well as a decision victory over Volkan Oezdemir. A long-time Top 10 fighter, it will be intriguing to see how Krylov looks and performs after such a long absence from the Octagon.

Reyes went through a grueling two-year run in which he lost four consecutive fights, beginning with his contentious championship battle defeat to Jon Jones, before sitting out the whole year of 2023. He returned to action to the win column in June, defeating Dustin Jacoby, followed by a second-round victory over Anthony Smith at UFC 310 in December.
