The Middleweight crown is up for grabs at UFC 328.

Newark, New Jersey, will once again serve as the host city as the UFC returns for UFC 328, marking its third consecutive annual event in the location. Headlining the card at Prudential Center is UFC Middleweight Champion Khamzat Chimaev, who battles Sean Strickland.

The co-main event features UFC Flyweight Champion Joshua Van defending the strap against Japan’s Tatsuro Taira. Other notable names on the card are Alexander Volkov, King Green, Sean Brady, Jim Miller, Grant Dawson, and Joel Alvarez, among others.

After defeating dominant Champion Alexandre Pantoja in 2025, Myanmar’s Joshua Van looks to continue his unprecedented rise and stop Tatsuro Taira, who himself finished former two-time Champion Brandon Moreno on the same card last year.

Dubbed a ‘striker versus grappler’ collision, the two Flyweights are equally skilled and ready to adapt wherever the fight leads. Van captured the title and put his country on the map, and now Taira aims to follow suit by becoming the first UFC champion from Japan, a nation with a deep and storied MMA history.

On the other hand, the main event will see Undefeated star Khamzat Chimaev take on former Champion Sean Strickland, who jumped the queue with a dominant win over Anthony Hernandez in February.

While Chimaev in his last outing delivered a shutout performance to defeat reigning Champion Dricus Du Plessis, Strickland has failed in his last championship since dethroning Israel Adesanya to gain the throne.

Strickland will have to deliver a dominant performance if he wants to hand Chimaev his first loss, and the key to victory is undoubtedly countering the relentless wrestling; otherwise, he will meet the same fate as everyone else who has faced Chimaev.
