UFC returns to Baku with a Fight Night card headlined by Azerbaijan’s own.

After debuting in Azerbaijan last year, UFC returns with a Fight Night, UFC Baku, headlined by Azerbaijan’s own, Rafael Fiziev. Set for Saturday, June 27, at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, Azerbaijan, the card will feature thirteen fights.

The card features an intriguing blend of newcomers, rising stars, and matchups with real divisional importance, capped off by a lightweight main event that is set to be a banger.

Speaking of the main event, number 11-ranked lightweight Rafael Fiziev goes head-to-head with 15th ranked lightwieght Manuel Torres.

Born in Kazakhstan and representing Azerbaijan, Fiziev returns to Baku hoping to recreate the form he showed in last year’s win over Ignacio Bahamondes. Apart from the win over Ignacio, Fiziev is 1-2 in his last three outings, with the loss to Mauricio Ruffy his most recent outing.

On the other hand, Mexico’s Manuel Torres, coming off two impressive wins over Grant Dawson and Drew Dober, is looking to break into the top 10 after entering the top 15 rankings with his most recent win over Dawson.

The co-main event features a strikers’ delight in the middleweight division as Shara Magomedov takes on Michel Pereira. Other matches on the main card include: Nazim Sadykhov vs Matheus Camilo, Asu Almabayev vs Charles Johnson, Ikram Aliskerov vs Brunno Ferreira, and Abus Magomedov vs Michal Oleksiejczuk.
