Raul Rosas Jr. vs Barcelos headlines Fight Night at the Meta Apexa this weekend.
UFC returns to its regular home at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas this weekend for a stacked 12-fight card, just days after the promotion’s big night out at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Leading the way is a bantamweight main event that adds another entry to Raul Rosas Jr.’s growing list of youthful milestones.
By topping Saturday’s bill, Rosas Jr. becomes the youngest fighter to ever main event a UFC card, another step in his stated goal of becoming the promotion’s youngest-ever champion. Standing across the Octagon from him is Raoni Barcelos, a 39-year-old Brazilian veteran who has quietly strung together five straight wins of his own.
The card also wraps up Season 34 of The Ultimate Fighter, with finals in both the men’s bantamweight and women’s strawweight brackets, alongside a stacked prelims slate led by a rematch between Montel Jackson and Ricky Simon.
Rosas Jr. enters on a five-fight winning streak and a 12-1 professional record built largely around his grappling. He holds the highest control-time percentage in bantamweight history.
He gives up fewer than 1.5 significant strikes per minute on average, numbers that explain why he’s dominated opponents inside the Octagon since signing with the promotion as a teenager.
Barcelos, by contrast, has spent his UFC career as one of the division’s most underappreciated names. The Brazilian is 22-5 with five straight wins of his own, including a decision over Montel Jackson earlier this year, and has gone the distance in 10 of his last 12 fights.
He also brings something Rosas Jr. hasn’t faced yet at this level: a durable, well-rounded veteran who won’t be easy to simply out-grapple.
In the co-main event, Rodolfo Vieira, a submission specialist, is looking to snap a two-fight skid, while Rober Bryczek will hope to keep the fight standing to build on his knockout-heavy UFC run.
The two TUF 34 finals carry extra intrigue too; Osmanli and Akylbek are both undefeated in the competition, and Amaya arrives unbeaten as the season’s breakout story.
