Josh Hokit dominates Derrick Lewis in a breakout performance at the White House.

Josh Hokit delivered the biggest win of his UFC career with an impressive second-round TKO victory over Derrick Lewis at UFC Freedom 250 on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C.

Entering the fight, questions surrounded Hokit’s health after he revealed that the damage suffered during his brutal clash with Curtis Blaydes had limited his punching during training camp. Despite those concerns, ‘The Incredible Hok’ looked sharp, composed, and technically dominant throughout the contest.

Meanwhile, Lewis struggled to generate offense against the younger heavyweight contender. The UFC knockout record holder appeared sluggish from the opening round and had no answer for Hokit’s pace, movement, and relentless pressure.

Round 1

Hokit opened the fight cautiously with heavy feints and multiple front kicks to the body. He also attempted spinning wheel kicks early, though one awkward attempt caused him to briefly slip to the canvas.

The rising heavyweight quickly settled into his rhythm by mixing striking with grappling. Hokit landed a stiff punch before securing a clean takedown, immediately putting Lewis on the defensive.

From the top position, Hokit delivered measured but accurate ground-and-pound strikes, including slicing elbows and punishing punches. Lewis attempted to work back toward the fence several times, but Hokit repeatedly dragged him back to the mat with ease.

As the round progressed, Lewis appeared exhausted and increasingly frustrated. Hokit continued controlling the action while opening a visible cut on Lewis with elbows and knees to the body.

Late in the round, Hokit nearly secured a dramatic submission finish after locking in an armbar. Lewis survived the dangerous position, but he ended the round looking fatigued and overwhelmed.

Round 2

Hokit carried his momentum into the second round, immediately establishing his jab against the slower-moving Lewis. While Lewis briefly connected with a counter punch and attempted a high kick, Hokit’s movement consistently kept him out of danger.

The younger heavyweight mixed in takedown attempts, clinch work, and fast combinations while refusing to recklessly exchange with one of the division’s most dangerous knockout artists. Hokit repeatedly backed Lewis up with clean straight rights and sharp three-punch combinations.

Lewis attempted to swing for the fences, but Hokit’s composure never faded. Knees in the clinch, elbows around the guard, and quick boxing combinations steadily broke the veteran down.

The finish finally came after Hokit stunned Lewis with another clean combination before dropping him to the canvas. Sensing the moment, Hokit swarmed with strikes until the referee stepped in for the second-round TKO.
