Welcome to the live blog for the Bengaluru Torpedoes vs Ahmedabad Defenders final match in Prime Volleyball League (PVL) 2023 Kochi leg.

Bengaluru Torpedoes and Ahmedabad Defenders go head-to-head for the second time in the Prime Volleyball League (PVL) 2023 on Sunday, March 5, although this time, with an eye to get their hands on the ultimate prize.

Bengaluru Torpedoes finished fourth in the points standings with four wins, while Ahmedabad Defenders ended their league campaign in second place.

The two teams have delivered contrary performances this season. To begin with, Ahmedabad Defenders were assured of a place in the playoffs after going on a five-game winning streak. Bengaluru Torpedoes, on the other hand, had to wait to see how the Kochi Blue Spikers vs Mumbai Meteors game panned out.

If Mumbai had defeated Kochi in straight sets, the Bengaluru Torpedoes wouldn’t have been in the playoffs in the first place. But judging by their impressive showings in their respective semi-finals, it’s safe to say that tonight’s game is going to be a banger.

The Torpedoes reached their maiden PVL final after overcoming the defending champions Kolkata Thunderbolts 3-1 in the semis. They had to come back from a set down to win the match and they did that with three consecutive set wins. Ahmedabad Defenders, on the other, beat Calicut Heroes 3-1 to reach their second successive final. They started their semi-final clash with a first-set win, but lost the second set. However, the Defenders won back-to-back sets to book their place in the final.

Ahmedabad Defenders though will be confident of landing their first title having defeated Bengaluru Torpedoes 3-2 in the league phase in the thriller. They had to comeback from 2-1 down to win the final two sets and take home all two points.
