FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U-19 World Championship 2023: Chile vs India Live
India didn’t register a win in the pool stages
After the end of the group stage, India is placed at the bottom of pool B having lost all four encounters at the FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U-19 World Championship 2023. The blue colts started the tournament with a loss to France and did not win a single game in the entire group stage. By virtue of finishing last, the Indian team will now play in the classification matches – 17th to 20th places.
Four out of the five teams progress to the round of 16 with the rest exiting the tournament. France, Japan, Slovenia and Bulgaria are the teams from Pool B to progress for R16. Next up, the Indian men’s U-19 team is set to take on Chile today for (the 17th-20th classification match).
The South American team like India did not win a single encounter in Pool D. However, Chile put in a spirited show against Mexico who registered only one win to progress to the next round.

Also, Nigeria has not played a single throughout the tournament and were placed in Pool C. With their non-participation, India who were set to take on the African team on August 9th have been awarded a victory (3-0). Nigeria will ultimately finish 20th and the battle will be for the places between 17 to 19th respectively.
The FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U-19 World Championship 2023 is scheduled to be held from August 2 to August 11, 2023, in Argentina’s San Juan. This will be the 18th iteration of the prestigious age-group tournament where national teams belonging to the member associations of the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) participate.
On December 20, 2022, Argentine Volleyball Federation revealed that the nation will be hosting the 2023 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U-19 World Championship 2023. Hence, this is the third occasion in which Argentina will play host to the event, having conducted the tournament back in 2011 and 2015.
Brazil is the most successful nation in the history of the FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U19 World Championship, winning six titles, and one silver medal. The last edition of the competition (2021) was won by Poland who defeated Bulgaria by 3-0. The host nation Iran finished their campaign on a high with a third position placement, beating Russia in a nail-biting contest by 3-2.

The 2023 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U-19 World Championship will mark India’s sixth appearance in the esteemed tournament. India featured in the event for the first time in 2003, where the nation also achieved its best finish as they finished as the runner-up, losing to Brazil by 0-3. This time, India qualified for the World Championship after placing third in the Asian Boys’ U18 Volleyball Championship 2022.
