Top five foreign players to watch out for at Prime Volleyball League 2025

The fourth edition of the Prime Volleyball League 2025 is set to take place from October 2 to 26 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad. A total of 38 games, including semifinal and final, will take place in the competition among 10 teams.
Calicut Heroes are the defending champions after they secured a victory against Delhi Toofans in the final last year. However, the 2025 auction in June might prove to be a game-changer for other teams, who will look to win their maiden title.
Each team formed a squad of 14 members, which had a maximum of two foreign players. Although the league intends to promote Indian talent, they have also added overseas players to grow the league and market itself as a strong platform for the sport.
On that note, let’s take a look at the top foreign players to watch out for in PVL 2025.
Top foreign players at Prime Volleyball League 2025
#5 Petter Ostvik
The talented middle-blocker, Petter Ostvik, has done well for Norway in the EuroVolley 2026 Qualifiers, with 21 points in four games. The stats include 11 winning spikes, nine kill blocks, and a solitary ace.

Ostvik has garnered 183 points in 43 games throughout his career in the European Volleyball Confederation competitions. The 26-year-old is set to represent the Mumbai Meteors in the Prime Volleyball League 2025.
#4 Carlos Berrios
Carlos Berrios represented Venezuela in the 2025 U23 Pan American Cup. The outside hitter was the finest performer for the team with 70 points, including 63 attacks.
Berrios helped Venezuela beat Mexico 3-0 and finish third in the competition. He led the team with 17 points, including 13 attacks, 2 blocks, and 2 aces. He will ply his trade for the Delhi Toofans in Prime Volleyball League 2025.
#3 Paulo Iury Lamounier
The Brazilian setter, Paulo Iury Lamounier, played for the Bengaluru Torpedoes in the last edition of PVL. He secured 15 points and had an attacking efficiency of around 39%. Meanwhile, Lamounier attained 46.88% success in digging.
The 2025 auction saw the Hyderabad Black Hawks adding Lamounier to their squad. It will be interesting to see if he can better his tally this season.
#2 Matthew West
Matthew West represented the Finnish club, Hurrikaani-Loimaa, in the 2024-25 season. His stat line read (350 – 45 – 43) / 642 across 76 sets in 20 games. The stats signify that out of 642 setting actions, 350 were excellent, leading to a 40.81% efficiency.
Since the last decade, West has represented various clubs in France, Germany, and Turkey, and is a highly experienced player. He will play for the Bengaluru Torpedoes in the 2025 edition of PVL.
#1 Luiz Felipe Perotto
The Brazilian attacker, Luiz Felipe Perotto, represented the eventual champions, Calicut Heroes, in the 2024 edition. He played a key role in the team’s glory with 53 points and had an impressive success ratio of around 70% in digging.
In the 2025 season, Perotto will be seen playing for the Chennai Blitz alongside his teammate from last year, Jerome Vinith, who won the MVP award as well.
