Mirabai Chanu will lead the Indian contingent at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship 2025.

The Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship is scheduled to take place from August 24 to 30 at the newly built Naranpura Sports Complex in Ahmedabad. The competition will include Senior, Junior, and Youth events for men and women across multiple weight categories.

The opening ceremony of the event will take place on August 24, while the events will be held from August 25 to 30. A total of 291 athletes from 28 countries will participate in the tournament. The championship will serve as a qualifier for the Commonwealth Games 2026, scheduled to take place in Glasgow.

India will field a 44-member contingent for the tournament, including 16 weightlifters in the senior category (eight men and eight women).

60kg: Chanambam Rishikanta Singh; 65kg: Muthupandi Raja; 71kg: Narayana Ajith; 79kg: Valluri Ajaya Babu and Achinta Sheuli (reserve); 88kg: Ajay Singh; 94kg: Dilbag Singh; 110kg: Harcharan Singh; +110kg: Lovepreet Singh.

Women:

48kg: Saikhom Mirabai Chanu; 53kg: Sneha Soren and Gyaneshwari Yadav (reserve); 58kg: Sorokhaibam Bindyarani Devi and Rima Bhoi (reserve); 63kg: Seram Nirupama Devi; 69kg: Harjinder Kaur and Sanapathi Pallavi (reserve); 77kg: Harmanpreet Kaur; 86kg: Vanshita Verma; +86kg: Mehak Sharma.
