The Olympic bronze medallist also called it an attempt to break unity of wrestlers.

Sakshi Malik has added fuel to fire by speaking out against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) and their alleged bias towards some players. The Wrestling Federation of India's decision to send Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia to the upcoming Asian Games directly without a proper selection process has not gone down well with her.

Speaking about it the 2016 Olympic Bronze medallist told ANI, "I am against this move of sending names directly because I don't want that the right of any player is taken away. This is to spark a fight between the wrestlers because of which the names of two people have been sent directly. I am totally against it. The wrestler looked distraught as she shared her views on the subject with the people."

Sakshi highlighted that the authorities should ensure fairness in their selection and give equal chances and fair opportunities to all wrestlers involved. The Haryana resident also stressed on the impottance of selections being made only on the basis of merit.

The controversy surrounding the WFI's decision has created quite a buzz and from the look of things it does not seem it will subside soon. As such it remains to be seen what is about to follow. Will the WFI retract from its decison ? Or will they go forward with their choice ? The situation around it has really reached boiling point right now. Coincidentally Sakshi was also a joint protestor with both Bajrang and Vinesh against the WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
