Top five Indian wrestlers to watch out for in Pro Wrestling League 2026

Sujeet Kalkal and Antim Panghal were the joint-most expensive Indian signings at PWL 2026 auction.

The Pro Wrestling League (PWL) is back for its fifth season, which will be played from January 15 to February 1. Launched by the Wrestling Federation of India in 2015, the tournament’s last edition took place in 2019. The Noida Indoor Stadium in Noida will serve as the host to the competition.

PWL will feature six teams – Delhi Dangal Warriors, Haryana Thunders, Tiigers of Mumbai Dangals, Maharashtra Kesari, Punjab Royals and UP Dominators.

With the Asian Games and the Commonwealth Games set to be played this year, the tournament could be crucial for the Indian wrestlers. They have a chance to test their skills against some of the finest players around the world.

#5 Jaspooran Singh – UP Dominators

Men’s 125kg wrestler Jaspooran Singh was bought by the UP Dominators for INR 17.5 lakh in the recently concluded auction. The reason being his decent performances in the Asian Championships in recent years.

Jaspooran finished fifth in the 2024 U17 World Championships and 2024 U20 World Championships. He had podium finishes in the U15, U20 Asian Championships 2025 (3rd) and the U23, U17 Asian Championships 2025 (2nd). During his last appearance in the 2025 U20 World Championships, the youngster finished 11th.

#4 Priya Malik – Punjab Royals

Priya Malik will represent the Punjab Royals in the women’s 76kg category after being bought for INR 29 lakh by the franchise. In the last few years, she has delivered consistent performances and is expected to be an asset for the Royals.

Priya has been the U17 Asian and World champion, U20 Asian and World champion and the U23 Asian champion. Meanwhile, she won the bronze medal in the U23 World Championships, which took place in 2025.

#3 Sujeet Kalkal – Delhi Dangal Warriors

The Delhi Dangal Warriors shelled out INR 52 lakh to secure the services of men’s 65kg wrestler Sujeet Kalkal for PWL 2026, making him the joint-most expensive Indian player.

Kalkal is a two-time U-23 Asian champion, one-time U-20 Asian champion and won the U23 World Championships in 2025. He is touted to be an exciting talent for India and a suitable successor to Bajrang Punia.

#2 Antim Panghal – UP Dominators

Women’s 53kg wrestler, Antim Panghal will lead the charge for the UP Dominators in PWL 2026, as the franchise made her the joint-most expensive Indian acquisition in the auction.

The youngster came into the limelight after securing a bronze medal in the 2022 Asian Games. She has been consistent with podium finishes in the Ranking series events, the Asian Championships and the World Championships.

#1 Aman Sehrawat – Tiigers of Mumbai Dangals

Aman Sehrawat will be contesting in the men’s 57kg category for the Tiigers of Mumbai Dangals, who bought him for INR 51 lakh. He is the most important player for the league to grow and reach audiences across the country.

Sehrawat rose to prominence after clinching a bronze in the 2022 Asian Games. Then, he had a third-place finish during the Paris Olympics as well. He will look to produce fine performances in the tournament ahead of the Asian Games and the Commonwealth Games.
