Top four reasons why Sami Zayn should win Gauntlet match next week on WWE Raw

On the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw, Adam Pearce announced a Gauntlet match involving six potential contenders involving former Intercontinental Champions Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura & Ricochet & fastest rising stars such as Bronson Reed, Chad Gable, and JD McDonagh.

The Gauntlet match will be awarded an Intercontinental Championship match against Gunther at WWE WrestleMania 40. Although every competitor has great potential to win the match, here are four reasons why Sami Zayn should win the Gauntlet match.

4. To prove that he is a Championship Contender

Sami Zayn has been claiming for months that he is a championship contender, however he never got the chance to prove it. Everytime Sami tried to prove himself ended in a loss by distraction by his rivals. Sami can now both end the rivalry with Nakamura and eventually get a shot at the Intercontinental Championship in the same match. This could prove Zayn’s ability.

3. Sami deserves a WrestleMania spot

Sami Zayn has been striving so hard to become a champion and to be at WrestleMania. He was worried during his recent interviews about not having a road to WrestleMania, after main eventing last year’s Mania. A Gauntlet match win could make him fulfil both his dreams and could place him in a spot which he deserves.

2. To do what Drew McIntyre couldn’t do

Last time when Gunther and Sami Zayn fought each other, Gunther brutally assaulted Sami. However, Sami has evolved a lot and came back strong to be one of the top stars and best in talents. Sami Zayn heading to face Gunther and dethroning him could be one of the biggest accomplishments in his career. By dethroning Gunther, Sami can prove that he could do what Drew McIntyre couldn’t do last year at Mania.

1. Sami Zayn could be a worthy champion 

Sami Zayn’s previous Intercontinental Championship reign came as a heel and was considered as a weak champion, who wins only through cheap tricks. However, Sami winning the IC title now could make him a worthy champion and it could open a number of doors for the locker room.

Zayn has the potential to elevate the title to a whole new level and add more prestige to the title.
