The Undisputed Universal champion has been off TV for the last couple of weeks
After a hard fought win against Cody Rhodes at WWE WrestleMania, Roman Reigns made his appearance on the following night on Raw. He kicked off the show with Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman and was interrupted by Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar. Cody Rhodes demanded a re-match, but Roman denied the challenge. But instead offered a tag-team match, where Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa will be fighting against Cody Rhodes and a wrestler of Cody’s choice, with a stipulation that the partner he chooses will never get a shot against Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Championship.
Brock Lesnar joined Rhodes to fight against Roman and Solo. But, the match got abandoned due to Brock’s brutal attack on Cody Rhodes. He left the ring and was not seen for a long time. But, Paul Heyman had Roman Reigns on the phone during multiple occasions, reporting the status of The Usos and Solo Sikoa. However, after a long break of over a month from television, The Tribal Chief is now set to return soon. WWE has now officially revealed when Roman Reigns will be making his return to television.
When will Roman Reigns return?
The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns will be returning to the WWE Television next week on the May 12th episode of SmackDown. This will be his first appearance on SmackDown after WrestleMania and is also the first episode of SmackDown with newly drafted superstars.
Triple-H while revealing the “New” World Heavyweight Championship reported that Roman Reigns has reached a position to defend his championship very rarely. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that Roman Reigns is booked for the Night of Champions Premium Live Event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on May 27, 2023. Multiple rumors and hints suggest that The Tribal Chief’s next opponent for the Night of Champions would be revealed on the same day. Roman Reigns will also inquire on The Uso’s failed attempt to regain the Undisputed Tag Team Championship.
