What will happen to WWE RAW Women's Championship as Bianca Belair moves to Smackdown?
The EST is the longest African American singles champion in WWE history
Bianca Belair is the longest African American singles champion in WWE history. She won her RAW women's championship defeating "The Man" Becky Lynch. Then she fought many opponents which include, Sonya Deville, Bayley, Alexa Bliss, and most recently against "The Empress of Tomorrow" Asuka.
Following "WWE SmackDown," several stars found themselves in a variety of situations as the WWE Draft got underway in a big way on Friday night. One of them is "Raw" Women's Champion Bianca Belair, who was selected by the blue brand with the third overall choice of the evening.
The first round of the 2023 WWE Draft was unveiled by Triple H. He revealed that Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair is switching to SmackDown with the third overall pick. A year and a half has passed since "The EST" was often broadcast on Friday nights. She was chosen for SmackDown in 2020, but in October 2021, she transferred to Raw, where she has resided ever since.
Nevertheless, Belair has served as the "Raw" Women's Champion since WrestleMania 38, when she defeated Lynch to reclaim the title. She's now the longest-reigning Black champion in WWE history, having overtaken MVP. Lynch, who held the "Raw" Women's Championship for 398 days, is the only woman who has held it longer than her but she is closing into Lynch and will surpass Lynch as the longest-reigning RAW women's champion.
The good news for Belair is that post-draft rosters won't be implemented until after the Backlash tournament on May 6. But now, the big question is what is going to happen to the WWE RAW Women's Championship. With Belair in the Blue brand, some speculations can be made.
So, here are the 3 possible outcomes of what can happen next
Title Swap
The easiest and most simple way is to draft Rhea Ripley to RAW. With that, both the champions can swap their titles with each other. Additionally, the move appears to indicate that Belair and SmackDown Women's Champion Rhea Ripley might exchange titles, much like Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch did in 2021. The RAW Women's Championship has been held by Belair since she defeated Becky Lynch at WWE WrestleMania 38.
Reviving Belair's rivalry with Bayley
Bayley carried the WWE through the Thunderdome like no other. She supplied the WWE universe with limitless laughter and entertainment. Although Bayley's appearance in the ring was well received by the audience, Bianca, found Bayley to be more of a hassle. The rivalry between Bayley and Bianca included not just some incredible matches, but also some unforgettable parts. With no idea what is going to happen next? This is our second prediction. This might be one of the approaches WWE might use to renew the feud between the two women. With no opponent decided for The EST, Bayley is the perfect choice to have a title fight at WWE Backlash.
Dropping the title to Charlotte Flair
Charlotte Flair has taken a break from WWE after losing the SmackDown Women's Championship to Rhea Ripley on Night 1 of WrestleMania 39. Flair and Ripley had one of the finest bouts of WrestleMania 39 on either night, as it was a muscular and hard-hitting battle with plenty of drama and near-falls.
But, let's be on the topic. So, why Charlotte Flair? She is one of the greatest women wrestlers of all time. With The Queen on hiatus and how WWE plans things, it might not come as a big surprise that Flair gets drafted to Smackdown and challenges EST to win and become the new champion.
But, these are just some projections as to what can happen to the RAW women's championship. It might change hands, it might get swapped, or anything. We don't know what WWE writers might go with. WWE is always full of surprises. So, let's wait and watch what really happens with the RAW Women's Championship.
