Here are all the winners of the MITB in history
WWE Money in the Bank is a multi-starred wrestling match which was introduced in 2005 by Chris Jericho. The match is based on the multi-starred ladder match concept, where a briefcase with a championship contract is hung on the top of the ring and multiple wrestlers battle among themselves to climb the ladder and grab the MITB briefcase.
The winner who grabs the MITB briefcase gains an opportunity to challenge for any championship of the company, anywhere, anytime, unless a referee is around. So far, WWE has witnessed 33 Money in the Bank winners (both Men’s and Women’s), where some successfully cashed-in to become champion and some failed to win the championship.
Men’s Money In The Bank Winners
Edge is the first-ever Money in the Bank winner and the first one to have a successful cash-in. Over the years, WWE has witnessed 28 attempts to cash in the MITB contract which 23 of them are crowned champions.
WWE Championships have changed hands 10 times as a result of MITB cash-in, with an 81.80% success rate. 5 superstars were unsuccessful during the cash-in and 2 superstars lost their briefcase to fellow superstars without cash-in attempts (Mr. Kennedy & Otis).
