Big E has been sidelined and was pulled away from in-ring action for more than a year now

Former WWE World Champion and the New Day Member, Big E has been sidelined and has been away from in-ring action for more than a year now. He suffered a broken neck in a match between Brawling Brutes and New Day last year in March, where Ridge Holland of Brawling Brutes tried a suplex on Big E outside the ring, where he landed on the neck. Big E was carried in a stretcher after the match and was admitted for medical observation.

He later announced on social media to his fans, that he is suffering with fractures to his C1 vertebrae and C6 vertebrae and there is no issue on the ligament or spinal cord.

During the time of his absence, he was spotted backstage doing promotions for the events, products and to work on tryouts for college athletes. With more than a year of medical observation and rehabilitation, Big E opened up on his medical conditions at the SummerSlam 2023 Press Conference. Where he revealed that he had been advised not to wrestle by the doctors.

What did Big E say?

At the SummerSlam 2023 Press Conference, 37-year-old said, “We did the year checkup and all that stuff looked great”. When he reached spine specialists, who treated other people in the company, they said “Hey, I would not wrestle Again, If I were you”. He also stated that he had never experienced nerve pain.

The 37-year-old also talked about living a long pain- free life, but what could happen is not in his hands. He stated that, when he entered the ring for the first time at the age of 23, he had “a bit of a death wish” to die in the ring, but he now wishes “not to die in the ring”. Big E continued that he would like to do other things in life and didn’t have any fixed timeline. He is grateful that he  does not have “any nerve pain”.
