The 16-time World Champion will wrestle in India for the first time

The 16-time World Champion, John Cena has been a part timer as he shifted his focus towards acting. Cena appears occasionally on the major events and rarely has a match. However, Cena’s return is now confirmed by WWE and he is said to wrestle for the first time since WrestleMania 39.

As Fox Sport reported, WWE has officially confirmed that Cena will be returning to the company next month on the September 1st episode of SmackDown and is said to wrestle in India for the first time at the WWE Superstar Spectacle on September 8th.

The SmackDown return marks Cena’s first return since Money In The Bank in the United Kingdom and his match at Superstar Spectacle will be the first match of Cena since WrestleMania 39 Day 1, where he lost to Austin Theory for the United States Championship.

Cena has been to India before in 2006, where he was in Mumbai for the Meet and Greet Events as a part of the Broadcaster plan. The 2023 return marks his second return to India and will mark his first match in the subcontinent.
