WWE RAW Results & Winners (August 14, 2023): The Judgement Day wrecks Cody & Sami.
The Judgement Day wrecks Cody & Sami; Trish vs Becky went off-stage; Seth Rollins next challenger found; Drew & Riddle as a Tag Team and much more!
The August 14, 2023 episode of Monday Night Raw is filled with some of the exciting match cards and segments including a match with Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus, Cody Rhodes and Finn Balor and much more. Here is a full match summary, results and winners list of this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
Match Summary
Sami Zayn vs JD McDonagh
The Judgement Day kicked off Raw without Finn Balor, they addressed the issue between Priest and Balor. They tried to figure it out, why Balor is not hanging out with them. JD McDonagh interrupts them and came to deliver a message from Finn Balor. Rhea, Dom and Priest stopped him stating that no one other than the Judgement Day members has a right to order them what to do. Sami Zayn interrupted the segment and attacked McDonagh which eventually turned into a match during the commercial.
After the commercial the match started right away, where Sami Zayn had the initial control of the match. However McDonagh counters his attack by targeting Zayn’s injured elbow. He ripped the elbow guard off and went for a arm stretcher. Sami however took McDonagh out of the ring with a top rope throwdown and a clothesline out of the ring, McDonagh however kept targeting the injured elbow.
After the commercial, Sami took the fight to the ring and climbs the top rope for a jump, but JD countered with a drop kick to the jaw. JD tried to sent Zayn run through the ropes, however Zayn counters with a clothesline and a one-handed slam. McDonagh went for a cross-face (Yes Lock) to Sami Zayn locking the on the injured elbow, but rope break stopped him. McDonagh had rapid kicks to Zayn, which fired him up as went an Exploder Suplex to the turnbuckle. Balor rushes towards the ring to cause Zayn a distraction. McDonagh went for a rolldown but Zayn survived and hit him with an Helluva kick for the win.
Winner: Sami Zayn Ratings: 3.5/5
Chad Gable vs Giovanni Vinci
Imperium and The Alpha Academy had a small talk, where Maxxine Dupree slapped Ludwig Kaiser ended the segment. After the commercial Chad Gable and Giovanni Vinci had a match where Vinci had the initial control of Gable with a slam, chop and a suplex to Gable. Gable tried to fight back but Vinci pushes Gable to the turn buckle on the chest and hit him with a back head clothesline.
Vinci took Gable to the top of the ropes, but Gable countered it with an armbar across the ropes. Vinci went for a three chops to the chest, but Gable fired up and went for a rolling neck breaker. Gable tried to hit Vinci with a Moon-sault but lands on his feet. Where Vinci hit a Moon-sault of his own on Gable. Gable some how gained momentum and hit him with a German Suplex for the win.
Winner: Chad Gable Ratings: 3/5
Gunther vs Otis
After Gable winning the match, Gunther lost his mind and challenged Otis for a match right away. Gunther had the control throughout the match where he hit Otis with a big boot to have a first strike. Otis stood and hit a couple of chops on Gunther, Gunther hit Otis with a hard chop to lay him down. Gunther then hit the elbow to the bridge of the nose teasing Gable.
Otis got fired up and both went for rapid strikes and exchanged back to back clotheslines on each other. Otis somehow took Gunther with a slam and went for a Caterpillar. But Gunther stopped him with a boot to the face and hit him with a Powerbomb for the win.After the match Gable moved in and hit Gunther with a Suplex and sends the Imperium out.
Winner: Gunther Ratings: 3/5
The Viking Raiders vs Matt Riddle & Drew McIntyre
The Viking Raiders issued an open challenge, where Matt Riddle accepted it and asked Drew McIntyre to be his tag team partner. They started the match where The Viking Raiders took Riddle off the ground and controlled the match. When Riddle tagged McIntyre in the game changed, where Drew tossed both Eric and Ivar across the ring. Drew measured Eric for a Claymore but stopped by Ivar. Riddle then tagged himself in, but Eric and Ivar dominated Riddle. McIntyre tagged himself in and Riddle cleared the house with a back flip on both Eric and Ivar. However Eric entered the ring by attacking Riddle to attack Drew. But Drew hit Eric with a Claymore for the win.
Winner: Drew McIntyre & Matt Riddle Ratings: 3/5
Rhea Ripley vs Indie Hartwell
The two Aussies had a match where Rhea had an absolute dominance. Rhea targeted Indi’s shoulder and kept targeting it by running her through the ring post. Rhea slammed cross body to the ring post and hit Candice (who was on the ringside with Indi). Rhea then hit Rip tide on Indi for a squash win.
After the match, Candice and Indi attacked Rhea and walked away making a statement to the World Champion.
Winner: Rhea Ripley Ratings: 2.5/5
Trish Stratus vs Becky Lynch
Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch finally had their second match after months. Trish walked out alone as Zoey is banned from the ring side. Becky and Trish fought each other, where Becky took control initially by locking Trish to the corner. Trish however countered by using her face mask as her advantage and chops to the chest. Becky pulled Trish out where Trish retreated and Lynch started to chase her. Trish then stopped and hit Becky with a clothesline.
After the commercial, Becky had the control by hitting Trish with a leg drop to the back of Trish, and a roll down. Trish however tried to rollup Becky for a pinfall but countered. Trish speared Becky but it wasn’t enough to win Becky. She then took Trish to the top rope and hit her with super-plex. Trish went out and both continued their fight at the audience area, where the match ended in a double count.
They continued by throwing blows on each other walking on the stairs of the audience area and took the fight on the culinary and Merchandise selling area. Where, Zoey came to the aid of Trish, both took Becky down and walked away.
Winner: None (Double Count out) Ratings: 3/5
Cody Rhodes vs Finn Balor
Both locked their shoulders and countered each other move, however Balor had the initial strike with a shoulder throw. Balor then took control of the match by grounding Cody with a neck lock. Cody however changed the game by hitting the midsection of Balor with the Knee strikes. While Rhodes was in control, Dirty Dom and Rhea marched their way to the ring. Where Cody lifted Dom for a Vertical Suplex, but Balor stopped him with a sliding kick.
After the commercial, Cody countered Balor’s grapple moves with a body slam and a disaster kick. When Cody had the advantage, Priest walked to the ring side to distract Rhodes. Cody however tried for a Cross Rhodes on Balor, but he countered it escaping it and went for a a sling blade and went for a Coupe de Grace. Cody moved as Balor landed on the feet. Cody then hit Balor with a Cody Cutter from the ropes, which made Balor roll out. Cody then went for a suicide dive on both Priest and Balor.
Cody throwed Balor in and climbed the top rope, as Rhea distracts the ref., Dom pulled Rhodes leg to make Cody hit his Groin on the ropes. Dom used this distraction and threw Chair for Balor’s aid. Ref however caught the chair and stopped Balor. Meanwhile, Priest tried to throw Briefcase for Balor’s advantage, but the over push of briefcase landed on Cody’s hand. Cody took the briefcase and attacked Balor with the case and hit Cross Rhodes for the win.
After the match, Dominik attacked Cody by locking him on a corner, as all the members of The Judgement Day surrounded Cody and attacked him. Sami Zayn came for the aid of Rhodes with a Steel Chair, but McDonagh stopped him by attacking Zayn from the back. The Judgement Day then ran wild on Zayn and Rhodes as Priest sent Zayn with a Razor bomb to the Commentary table and Balor hit a Coupe de Grace on Cody Rhodes.
The Raw started and ended with The Judgement Day.

Cody Rhodes (W) defeated Finn Balor by Pinfall despite Judgement Day distraction.
