Why is Ronda Rousey leaving WWE?
Wrestling News.Co reported that Ronda Rousey will leave WWE after her loss at SummerSlam 2023 to Shayna Baszler, her return date is unknown as it is a part of her contract.
“The Baddest Women on the Planet” signed with WWE in 2018 and had a great first run as a WWE Raw Women’s Champion. Ronda Rousey left the company after her first loss at WrestleMania 35. However she returned to the company in 2022 as a surprise entrant at Royal Rumble and won to begin her second run.
She had a successful second run with two SmackDown Women’s Championship and one WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship reign. She had a long second run in the company for over 18 months and is now reported to leave WWE to pursue her other interests. Her loss against Shayna Baszler is just an honor to her and give push to her wrestling career.
As per her contract with WWE, Rousey has a guaranteed, non-negotiable leaving date that she can leave the company without any restrictions anytime. On her time off from wrestling, she is likely to pursue a career in world television and in movies. She recently appeared on “Stars of Mars” television show, where she lasted eight episodes before elimination.
In a recent interview with James Desborough of “The Sun” Magazine, Rousey reported that she has a keen interest in pursuing a career in acting and making it into Hollywood and also has a wish to have another child. Reports suggest this might be the reason behind leaving WWE.
